The firm has developed a thorough expertise in feasibility studies, energy audits and industrial process analysis. The main line of business covers thermal and mechanical processes, cogeneration and energy conservation. Several process modernization designs, including detail engineering relating to a de-inking facility expansion have been made.
This consulting-engineering firm has currently over 10 employees: engineers, technicians and draftsmen. The specialization in energy conservation has earned Opti-Conseil inc. a national reputation in various sectors such as institutional, agri-food, chemical, metallurgical, energy, pulp and paper…
Moreover, always on the look-out for new technologies, OCI has gradually developed three-dimensional plan design. The level of realism achieved with 3-D design brought new prospects. Indeed, desirous of offering products with a value added, OCI turned towards multimedia and bound it to engineering, a combination that looked impossible at first! Through research and stubbornness, the firm made more and more sophisticated animations, from equipment operation demonstrations to plant virtual visits.
The various prototypes elaborated are used in both company training and health&safety prevention. The videos produced by OCI are excellent popularization tools for the public in general. OCI has redefined engineering using this innovative approach.
In the years to come, OCI plans to develop a wide range of multimedia products adapted to clientele that is more and more diversified. The limit will not be the industrial world, and the tools will be adapted to the requests received.
At the ''Banquet des Seigneurs'' (Banquet of the Lords) held on November 28, 2003 in Bécancour, OCI was awarded the "Seigneurial Développement Économique Canada" in category "Research / Development and Innovation" to emphasize its technological development. |
